Reza Karimi, the inventor told reporters on Sunday that the project was sponsored by Researchers Fund of the Presidential deputy for science and technology. “The machine was initially meant to generate electricity using sea waves, but further considerations of efficiency added to it solar energy source and wind as well; the simple part of the machine is a flat and convertor part which only uses sea waves to generate electricity. Solar cells and wind turbines are installed on the surface,” he added.
“The machine is effective near the coast and in depths of 100 meters; in near coastal waters the machine converts sea waves to electricity; in depths of 100 meters, solar cells are installed on the flat surface; on the metal posts bolstering the flat surface wind turbines are installed; in foreign versions of the machine, only a single energy module is used,” said the inventor. “Nominal efficiency in most of the foreign versions was 70 per cent which was 20 per cent in practice. We met this issue with redesigning the machine; in theory, 100 per cent of the sea wave energy is converted by the machine and a 40-per cent waste nets 60 per cent efficiency which is unparalleled by any other similar machine around the world,” Karimi asserted.
